Bike Trail Information

Juneau County is fortunate in having three major bike trails run through the county: Elroy-Sparta, the Omaha, and the 400  trail systems. The three main trails meet in Elroy, WI.
Elroy-Sparta Trail, the first "rails to trails" project in the country is one of the most popular bike trails in the country. The 32.5 mile long trail travels through Elroy, Kendall, Wilton, Norwalk, and Sparta, running through three, three-century old rock  tunnels on a crushed limestone path. The trail is part of "Bike4Trails" connection, which connects four state trails: Great River, Lacrosse River, and the 400 State Trails.

400 State Trail is also apart of the "Bike4Trails", and "rails to trails" this trail runs through Elroy, Union Center, Wonewoc, LaValle, and ends in Reedsburg. The 22 mile crushed limestone path provides a ride through beautiful natural scenery as well while running parallel to the Baraboo River.

Omaha Trail is a trail 13 mile trail funded  by Juneau County. The paved path runs from Camp Douglas, through Hustler, and ends in Elroy. The trail runs through a tunnel similar to those found on the Elroy-Sparta trail.
