Trails

The county maintains 2 bike trails, the Omaha Bike Trail  which is 13 miles, runs from Camp Douglas to Elroy; and Hillsboro State Trail which is 4 miles, runs from Hillsboro to Union Center.

The Bass Hollow Hiking/Horseback Trail  is just south of Mauston, on County Highway K. It offers a beautiful hike up and down steep hillsides. Don't forget to pack a second pair of shoes as there are several creek crossings you have to navigate.

North of New Lisbon on County Hwy M, the Oak Ridge Hiking Trails were once groomed X-C ski trails. Trails still exist but are no longer maintained. It is a beautiful block of over 1000 acres to wander around on.

Yellow River Bottoms Hunting/Hiking Trails, situated on 2,630 acres, are mowed annually, typically in the fall. This area is low-lying so at times may be flooded in spots. Many people recreate to this area to hunt in the fall or to hike to the bridge built 1813 moved to this location in 1995.
